As we begin a new year, HRW is proud to announce an exciting transition in management structure. Jeffrey Hirsch and Scott Roberts, having led our firm as co-managing partners since its founding in 2008, have passed the torch to our new managing partner Pete Moser and management committee members Laurie Bishop and John Graff.
Pete Moser, a recently inducted fellow in the College of Labor and Employment Lawyers (CLEL), has built his practice on labor law and employer counseling. Representing both unionized and non-unionized organizations, Pete advocates for his clients’ best interests, and advises them on best practices to maintain productive and thriving workplaces. He is also an adjunct professor at Boston University School of Law, teaching the next generation of lawyers the ins and outs of labor and employment law.
Laurie Bishop is a partner at HRW and serves as General Counsel at Berklee College of Music, while maintaining a robust practice advising her clients on higher education and employment issues. Whether developing risk management strategies or keeping up to date with the ever-changing landscape of higher education law, Laurie is a go-to legal expert in higher education, most recently being named Lawyer of the Year for Education Law in Boston by Best Lawyers in 2020 and 2024. She was also a recipient of the 2023 National Association of College and University Attorneys (NACUA) First Decade Award, a recognition of her service to the practice of higher education law and a recipient of the Women’s Bar Association’s Emerging Women Leader’s in the Law award in 2022.
John Graff is an experienced litigator, and an advisor to colleges and universities across the United States. An expert in navigating campus safety issues, John provides guidance to higher education institutions on matters relating to Title IX and the Clery Act. In 2023, John co-authored A President’s Guide to the Clery Act: 2023 Edition, a high-level overview of Clery requirements and compliance guidelines tailored for senior leaders in higher education. He also hosts the podcast HRW Higher Ground, where he discusses the value of strong leadership and shares strategies for creating and maintaining united teams in turbulent times.

As Pete, John, and Laurie step forward as HRW’s next generation of leaders, we know that they will continue that vision, and we could not be more excited for the future of our firm,” said Scott Roberts on the transition.
