Back in August of this year, Governor Healey signed the HERO Act, which contains a myriad of provisions related to supporting veterans. Buried in the fine print is a requirement that employers in the Commonwealth with more than 50 employees post a notice issued by the Secretary of Labor with information about veterans’ benefits. These “covered employers” (more than 50 employees) are also required to give this notice to all new employees.
The notice has just been released by the Massachusetts Executive Office of Veterans Services. It is expected to be publicly available on the Office’s website and the Executive Office of Labor and Workforce Development website soon. The Notice contains useful information and links to resources for veterans, so consider posting it even if you are not legally required to do so.
