MA Minimum Wage & Service Rate Set to Increase on January 1, 2021

A reminder to all Massachusetts employers: On Friday, January 1, 2021, the Massachusetts minimum wage will increase from $12.75 per hour to $13.50 per hour. The Massachusetts service rate (i.e., the rate for tipped employees paid via tip credit) will also increase from $4.95 per hour to $5.55 per hour. Lastly, the Premium Pay for Sunday retail workers will decrease from 1.3 times the employee’s regular rate to 1.2 times the regular rate.
